The Salt Lake City Mayor's Office, in collaboration with Salt Lake Film Society, will be sponsoring a special screening of I AM NOT YOUR NEGRO, the acclaimed documentary about James Baldwin and Civil Rights.
The screening will be preceded by a 20-minute panel discussion on Black life and history in America and Salt Lake City by a group of local community members.

Director Raoul Peck envisions the book James Baldwin never finished - a radical narration about race in America, using the writer’s original words. He draws upon James Baldwin’s notes on the lives and assassinations of Medgar Evers, Malcolm X, and Martin Luther King Jr to explore and bring a fresh and radical perspective to the current racial narrative in America. (95 min., PG-13)
