In collaboration with Westminster College, this innovative program pairs a classic film with a lecture by a film student from the college. On the first Monday of the month there will be a FREE screening at Tower that is open to the public.
CORRECTION: Due to a scheduling miscommunication, we will be screening Claire Denis's CHOCOLAT from 1988. NOT Lasse Hallstrom's CHOCOLAT from 2000. WE ARE VERY SORRY FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE. Feel free to check out the new description below for the French classic.
A young French woman returns to the vast silence of West Africa to contemplate her childhood days in a colonial outpost in Cameroon. Her strongest memories are of the family's houseboy, Protee - a man of great nobility, intelligence and beauty - and the intricate nature of relationships in a racist society. (105 min, PG-13)
